Observations on the roads in Canada

There were many times I wanted to pull over and get a picture of the beauty of the area.  Unfortunately, the roads were unconducive to doing that.

This is definitely not a criticism, because when I think of all the money saved, it has to be in the millions and millions of dollars.

The berm on the side of the road is narrow.  It is about half the width of the truck.  It is impossible to stop and take a picture.

The other observation is there are very few guard rails.  In the US we have guardrails everywhere.  The expense of installing those is incredible.  When I think of all the money saved by Canada, I am impressed.  When there is a guardrail, it is a concrete barrier style.  This seems to be sturdier than the typical cable or metal guardrail used in the US.

I tried to get as many pictures as possible.  The country is beautiful and I recommend that you drive it yourself to enjoy it’s beauty.
